TREE REMOVAL

WHY WOULD SOMEONE NEED TREE REMOVAL?

Tree removal in Auckland is becoming increasingly common, with people requesting the service for various reasons. The first and most common reason is for practical purposes. You may have a tree that is situated in a space that isn’t being used as much as it could be. Perhaps it’s blocking the sun or ruining the ability for an open space.

Another common reason is to have a diseased or damaged tree removed for safety purposes. You may have noticed a tree on your property that has been gradually deteriorating over time. To ensure that nothing will cause harm to the property or people, it’s best to get a hold of an Auckland arborist to make quick work of this potentially dangerous situation.

Additionally, there are some occasions, typically the night after a storm or dramatic weather event, where a tree may be in critical need of removal. In this case, it’s important you call an arborist in Auckland who has a 24-hour emergency tree removal service. Removing this tree will ensure that everyone in the vicinity will be safe and assure you won’t be liable for any legal problems that may arise.

This may be one or many trees, but either way, take comfort in knowing that A1 Sure Services has a team of highly qualified and skilled arborists who have access to a wide collection of state-of-the-art equipment.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF TREE REMOVAL?

Tree removal can typically be carried out in two ways – tree removal and tree felling. Tree removal is a far more methodical and piece-by-piece technique to bring the tree down from the top. A qualified Auckland arborist will climb to the top of the tree and begin removing the tree in chunks via chainsaw or other cutting equipment. These branches and blocks are carefully and safely dropped to the floor until just the stump remains.

With tree felling, however, arborists will need to make sure that a clear radius is established before the felling takes place. If the tree is situated near a house or office, you will need to ensure that an expert arborist is at the helm of this tree felling. A specific cut is made at the base of the tree to tilt the tree in the right direction and fall. This is not a task that anyone should do DIY and requires the skills of a professional arborist with the appropriate insurance protections in place.

AFTER TREE REMOVAL

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TREE REMOVAL?

Once an Auckland arborist has been dismantled from the top or fallen, there will be a stump remaining. There are two options for dealing with a tree stump. Firstly, you can use stump grinding.

This is a procedure that requires very advanced technology to grind the stump down into the earth. Again, this is not a task that can be carried out DIY. A very specialised device is used to shred the stump down (different devices are required depending on the size of the stump). The resulting mulch that is created can actually be used on the property or to fill in the hole created by the stump.

Alternatively, stump removal can also be employed to carry out the final step. A rope or chain is attached to the stump, and then one of our large vehicles will literally rip the stump out of the ground. Of course, there may be a substantial hole remaining; however, this can be filled quite easily with mulch, which will then recover with time.

As mentioned, this is still a major job to be done on your property, so we advise against a DIY job – you’ll likely end up causing far more damage on your property which may affect the aesthetic and value of your land.
